Keeping donors – and Finance – happy.

Barker & Scott led the selection of a new gift processing vendor that improved donor service while meeting Finance’s strict financial requirements.

“We continue to turn to Barker & Scott with the utmost confidence to help us redesign our business processes and to manage key projects.”

The Details

Doctors Without Borders brought in Barker & Scott to perform a detailed requirements definition that captured their specific requirements complemented by industry best practices. A critical success factor was being able to accurately capture and meet both the donor-centered needs of Development and the strict standards of Finance.DWB 2

Barker & Scott utilized the documented requirements to lead the team through a competitive response processing vendor selection. A key activity of this phase included an analysis of the service provider market in both the retail (banking) and wholesale (fundraising) sectors. Barker & Scott facilitated site visits and demonstrations that enabled Doctors Without Borders to select a new response processing vendor that delivered improved timeliness, accuracy, and better overall service at a competitive price.

Because of the success of this transition, Doctors Without Borders was able to offload other response processing activities that were being managed in house (e.g., tributes) to free up staff to work on more value-add fundraising activities.
