Easter Seals
“Working with Barker & Scott was a wonderful experience. Their extensive knowledge of CRM and nonprofit best practices contributed greatly to the advancement of our multi-year initiative that would develop our enterprise-wide database solution, create a framework for collaborative fundraising and lay the foundation for effective business rules and processes, and implement change management. With their help, we were able to articulate a vision, gather support and make early progress in this initiative.”
— David Sacchetti, Senior Integrated Marketing Manager
The Story:
Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 90 years. Services and support are provided through a network of more than 550 sites in the U.S. In 2007 the organization embarked upon an Organizational CRM Initiative which included plans for deploying an enterprise CRM solution and development of a new collaborative fundraising model. Easter Seals selected Barker & Scott to serve as its strategic consulting partner to provide best practice guidance in carrying out this initiative.
The Solution: Business Alignment & Change Management
Barker & Scott took the lead in facilitating the development of organizational business rules for the CRM solution. We led a team of representatives from the headquarters office and two pilot affiliates through a series of software design sessions in order to develop a standard configuration and business rules for managing constituent data. In addition, Barker & Scott provided change management support by crafting communications to key stakeholders and facilitating decision-making meetings with a team of Executive Directors from the affiliates and senior staff from Headquarters. In particular, Barker & Scott’s best practice expertise and “lessons learned” from other organizations provided significant value to Easter Seals in helping to plan for the adoption of new models for data sharing and fundraising collaboration.
The Impact
Easter Seals was able to choose and implement an enterprise-wide CRM and ensure strong user experience and adoption.
